CBE Hosts the Financial Stability Board Regional Consultative Group for the Middle East and North Africa Meeting

The Central Bank of Egypt CBE - Co-chair of the Regional Consultative Group for the Middle East and North Africa RCG MENA hosted the Financial Stability Boards FSB RCG MENA Meeting. The event was jointly chaired by H.E. Mr. Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the CBE, and H.E. Mr. Ayman Mohammed Alsayari - Governor of Saudi Central Bank SAMA, and was held in Sharm El-Sheikh on January 29 30, 2025.

CBE Issues New Decrees for Extending the Exemption of Individuals from Transfer Fees via Instant Payment Network and InstaPay Application for a Renewable Period of 3 Months

In alignment with Egypts Vision 2030 to promote digital transformation, the Central Bank of Egypts CBE Board of Directors issued a set of decrees that include extending the exemption of all fees and commissions applicable to bank transfer services, conducted through electronic channels internet banking and mobile banking applications in Egyptian pound. Furthermore, the exemption also applies to all transfers executed by customers through the national Instant Payment Network IPN and InstaPay application
